The UAE’s world-class metropolis Dubai has beaten London to become the top destination for global business travel this year.

According to data from travel technology firm Travelport, the destination has now surpassed its pre-pandemic tourist levels, having the strongest travel recovery of any country - this year’s bookings outperformed 2019 by 14%.

The country’s steadfast response to the pandemic - in particular its stringent vaccination drive, which, research from Johns Hopkins University revealed saw more than 98.49% of the population fully vaccinated - has played a key role in its recovery.

Data from Travelport shows that business travel accounted for almost a third (29%) of Dubai’s total bookings this year, with popular events such as the Expo 2020 Dubai and the Dubai World Cup horse race, proving popular for attendance.

Business travel aside, a luxury holiday to Dubai continues to attract visitors from destinations around the globe for its guaranteed sunshine, sand, and most importantly, safety.
