Business Travel Consultant

Role Purpose:

 

To provide a dedicated personal service to ensure new clients are impressed and existing clients continue to be delighted with the company’s travel service, whilst applying the companies policies and procedures.
 

Main Responsibilities/Duties

 

  • Respond to clients’ enquiries in a professional, knowledgeable and timely manner
  • Provide a dedicated service offering accurate information on availability, costs
  • Ensure all reservations are completed accurately and checked thoroughly
  • Follow up on enquiries to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Build up a rapport to ensure a good long-term relationship with the client
  • Maximize use of net fares and consolidators to optimize profit margins
  • Ensure company procedures are followed using systems available
  • Maintain the companies’ commercial policies and their implementation, whilst
    complying with necessary regulations and codes of practice
  • Maintain up to date product knowledge
  • Ensure accounting information is processed accurately and interfaced to the
    administration department
  • Other requests made by the Operations Manager
  • Ability to take initiative and make decisions on work-related issues in the absence of
    the Operations Manager
  • Ensure Q’s are actioned promptly and that all profiles are kept up to date

Qualifications Required

 

  • Certification up to BA2 or equivalent

 

Experience/Skills Required

 

  • At least 5 years Business Travel experience
  • Excellent spoken English communication skills with the ability to build a rapport with
    the client, and convey accurate information in a professional but friendly manner
  • Excellent written English to ensure accurate, professional emails, itineraries, accounts information
  • Good organisational skills particularly the ability to prioritize workload effectively
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Calm and confident manner especially under pressure
  • Reliability
  • Desire to offer the client the best service possible by maintaining/improving on your own abilities/knowledge/confidence

 

Additional Skills Required

 

  • Communicate with other members of staff to create good team relationships
  • Confidence and ability to train /instruct existing and new members of staff
  • Ability to use knowledge and experience to solve problems in a manner beneficial
    to both the client and Matrix Travel
  • Desire to take on further responsibilities and improve on own ability/knowledge
  • Assist with improving on the general smooth running of the office to include time
    Management and better use of existing procedures
