Account & Business Development Manager

Position Overview

The Account Manager at EFR Travel is a hybrid role focused on delivering exceptional client service and driving new business development. As the main point of contact for assigned accounts, the Account Manager will work three days per week managing relationships, ensuring client satisfaction, and optimising account performance. For the remaining two days, this individual will focus on proactive sales activities to generate new business, working closely with the Head of Sales and Account Management to support growth targets. This role requires a client-focused, results-driven professional with strong account management and sales skills.

Key Responsibilities

Account Management (3 Days per Week)

  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned accounts, ensuring timely responses to client inquiries, needs, and requests. and tenders that set us apart from the competition.
  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with clients, understanding their travel requirements and proactively offering solutions that meet their needs.
  • Monitor account performance, analyse trends and identify areas for improvement to enhance client satisfaction and increase account profitability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, finance) to resolve issues, implement solutions, and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Conduct regular account reviews, providing clients with insights, reports, and recommendations to maximise the value of EFR’s services.

Sales & Business Development (2 Days per Week)

  • Identify and target new business opportunities to expand EFR’s client base, aligning efforts with the company’s strategic growth objectives.
  • Conduct outreach activities, including prospecting, networking, and cold calling, to generate leads and build a robust sales pipeline.
  • Meet with potential clients to understand their travel needs, present EFR’s value proposition, and convert opportunities into new accounts.
  • Support the development of sales presentations, proposals, and pricing structures in collaboration with the Head of Sales and Account Management.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and competitive offerings to effectively position EFR’s services in the marketplace.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with the Head of Sales and Account Management to align on account strategy, revenue targets, and sales goals.
  • Provide regular updates on account performance and sales activities, contributing to departmental reporting and performance analysis.
  • Collaborate with marketing to support promotional activities, identify opportunities for cross-selling, and contribute insights for campaign planning.
  • Participate in team meetings, sharing insights on client feedback and contributing to the continuous improvement of EFR’s service offerings.

Client Satisfaction & Retention

  • Proactively monitor client satisfaction, implementing solutions to address any concerns and enhance the client experience.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within assigned accounts to increase revenue and deepen client relationships.
  • Gather client feedback on EFR’s services and provide recommendations for service enhancements to meet evolving client needs.

Key Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in account management, sales, or business development, ideally within the travel or hospitality industry.
  • Proven track record in managing client relationships and generating new business, with a focus on meeting or exceeding targets.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach to building and maintaining relationships.
  • Proficiency in sales techniques, including prospecting, lead generation, and closing deals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to balance account management and sales responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for account tracking and reporting.
