Transport Secretary Grant Shapps recently revealed the long-awaited plans for the easing of UK travel restrictions - hailing the changes as “a landmark moment for international travel”.
Officially announced last month, the changes will give the eligible fully vaccinated exemption from taking a COVID-19 test when arriving into the UK – just in time for the February half-term holidays, as promised.
Shapps also announced that the government would also introduce a simplified Passenger Locator Form (PLF) that will be less confusing for travellers to complete, involving the removal of all questions relating to COVID-19 tests for fully vaccinated passengers. Other changes to the PLF will be implemented later.
On the 10th February on Twitter Shapps wrote: “As we become one of the most open countries in the world, again from 4am tomorrow, arrivals who do not qualify as fully vaccinated will only need to take pre-departure tests and a PCR test on or before day 2 after they arrive in the UK”
Now that the changes have been made, travel to the UK will be easier and cheaper.
