Emirates Resumes Flights to China

Emirates has announced that it will be resuming flight routes to China, following a suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In response to China’s reopening of its borders, the Dubai-based carrier will be restarting flights to Shanghai and Beijing over the next two months, travelling to Shanghai from Friday 20 January and Beijing from 15 March, respectively. The airline will also be increasing flights to the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou in which it already serves, providing a daily service in place of the current four per week.

Emirates will operate twice-weekly flights to Shanghai in an Airbus A380 aircraft, going non-stop from Dubai to Shanghai and making a short stopover in Bangkok on the return journey. It is said that frequencies will gradually increase in the coming weeks to become a daily non-stop service from March. Equally, the airline’s Dubai-Beijing route will resume as a daily non-stop service using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

Emirates has been serving China for almost two decades and offers passengers increased connectivity to 24 domestic points via Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou.
