ANA to Resume London to Tokyo Flights
All Nippon Airways (ANA) has announced it will be resuming its Tokyo Haneda to London Heathrow flights from June 2022, as part of a wider expansion of its international routes to selected cities, as Japan eases travel restrictions. The Heathrow – Haneda route will operate three times per week on a Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday for the first time since March, to accommodate the growing demand for flights between Japan and Europe. Similar to its current non-stop routes from Narita to Brussels and Haneda to Frankfurt, ANA plans to operate non-stop flights from Haneda to Heathrow on the northern polar route; which will reduce flight time by approximately 60-90 minutes. The flight time on westbound flights will be shortened compared to the central Asia route (which may be used depending on weather conditions), and will not require refuelling at transit points. The airline stated: “ANA will continue to monitor local restrictions and quarantine guidelines as well as demand trends and travel viability as it decides on the frequency of flights and when to resume certain routes.”
